Man Robbed in Headlock After Using Staten Island ATM; Two Suspects Arrested

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Quick action by the New York City Police Department has led to the arrest of two individuals following a violent robbery at an automated teller machine (ATM) on Staten Island. The attack occurred in late April 2025, leaving a customer shaken but leading to swift police intervention.

According to police and local sources, the victim was targeted immediately after completing a transaction and leaving the ATM. One of the suspects approached from behind, placed the victim in a tight headlock, and restricted his movement while the second suspect demanded and grabbed the cash the victim had just withdrawn. The assailants then fled the immediate vicinity on foot.

Responding officers, aided by descriptions provided by the victim and potential eyewitnesses, conducted a search of the surrounding area. Police successfully located and apprehended two suspects shortly after the robbery. Both individuals face charges related to robbery and assault.
