Witness Tracking Leads to Arrest of Four Armed Robbery Suspects in Stony Point

STONY POINT, NC — Four individuals are in custody after an armed home invasion in Stony Point, North Carolina, ended with a swift police response enabled by a vigilant local citizen.

According to the Alexander County Sheriff's Office, the suspects—armed with a stolen handgun—entered a residential property in Stony Point. The home invasion quickly escalated as the intruders held the homeowner at gunpoint and demanded money, ultimately fleeing the scene with $1,000 in cash.

The suspects' getaway was cut short due to the actions of an observant witness. Having noticed suspicious activity at the residence, the citizen followed the suspects' vehicle from a safe distance and provided real-time location updates to law enforcement. This critical information allowed sheriff's deputies and local police officers to intercept the vehicle, execute a high-risk traffic stop, and take all four suspects into custody without further incident.

During the arrest, deputies recovered the stolen handgun used in the crime along with the cash taken from the home. The suspects now face multiple felony charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary, and possession of a stolen firearm. Law enforcement officials praised the witness's quick thinking, noting that their coordination was instrumental in preventing the suspects from escaping the county.
