Toledo Man Apprehended Following Armed Liquor Store Robbery

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man is in custody and facing felony charges after allegedly robbing a local liquor store at gunpoint and making off with a large sum of cash. The armed robbery took place on April 30, 2025, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the business brandishing a handgun, confronted the store clerk, and demanded money from the cash register and safe. After securing more than $6,000, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Police officers arrived shortly thereafter, securing the area and reviewing high-definition surveillance footage from the store’s security system.

Using descriptions from the clerk and tracking techniques, officers located the suspect nearby a short time later. He was arrested without further incident, and a search revealed a loaded firearm and a substantial amount of cash matching the stolen funds. The suspect has been booked into the Lucas County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon, with a preliminary court appearance scheduled in Toledo Municipal Court.
