Suspect Arrested in West Toledo Gas Station Armed Robbery

TOLEDO, Ohio — Law enforcement officers have successfully apprehended a suspect accused of committing an armed robbery at a West Toledo gas station on July 14, 2025. The suspect was taken into custody following a coordinated effort by the Toledo Police Department and local tactical units.

The incident occurred during the afternoon hours when a male suspect entered a gas station convenience store in West Toledo. According to police reports, the suspect brandished a weapon and demanded cash from the store clerk. After securing an undisclosed amount of money from the register, the suspect fled the premises on foot, prompting an immediate search of the surrounding area.

Investigation and Arrest

Detectives utilized surveillance footage from the gas station and neighboring businesses to quickly identify the suspect. A warrant was issued for aggravated robbery, and a tracking operation led officers to a nearby residential address where the suspect was believed to be hiding.

A SWAT team and canine units assisted in executing the arrest warrant. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Lucas County Jail, where he is being held pending an initial court appearance. Police confirmed that the weapon believed to have been used in the robbery was recovered during the arrest.

"Thanks to the rapid response of our patrol officers and the diligent work of our detectives, we were able to remove a dangerous individual from our streets," a Toledo Police spokesperson said. The clerk involved in the incident was shaken but did not sustain physical injuries during the encounter.
