Repeat Felon Charged Following Armed Robbery at Troy Gas Station

TROY, Michigan — A convicted felon has been formally charged after allegedly committing an armed robbery at a gas station in Troy. The suspect was arrested following a brief pursuit shortly after the crime occurred, according to local authorities.

The incident took place late in the evening when the suspect entered the service station, approached the counter, and displayed a handgun to the worker on duty. The suspect demanded all the money from the register and fled the scene. The clerk immediately contacted 911, providing police dispatchers with a detailed description of the suspect's vehicle and direction of travel.

Troy patrol officers spotted the matching vehicle nearby and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect initially refused to pull over, initiating a short pursuit that ended when police successfully boxed the vehicle in. A search of the automobile revealed a loaded firearm and the stolen cash from the gas station.

Due to the suspect's prior felony record, they face enhanced sentencing guidelines, including charges of armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm. The suspect is being held without bond in the county jail pending further court appearances.
