Armed Suspect Robs Tucson Dairy Queen and Flees on Sun Tran Bus

TUCSON, Arizona — The Tucson Police Department is searching for an armed suspect who pulled off an unusual escape after robbing a Dairy Queen restaurant. The incident occurred on Thursday, drawing a significant law enforcement response to the fast-food establishment.

According to police reports, the suspect entered the Dairy Queen, brandished a weapon, and demanded cash from the employees. After securing an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the store. Instead of escaping in a getaway car or on foot, the suspect reportedly boarded a nearby Sun Tran public transit bus to make their escape.

Officers quickly responded to the scene and began tracking the transit route, but the suspect managed to exit the bus and disappear before police could intercept the vehicle. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from both the Dairy Queen and the Sun Tran bus system to identify the suspect.
