Update: Suspect Arrested in Theft of Pythons from Tucson Pet Store

TUCSON, Arizona — An update on a highly unusual retail theft: Tucson police officers have arrested a suspect connected to the theft of several valuable pythons from a local specialty pet store. The incident occurred in late March 2026, sparking significant concern for the welfare of the stolen reptiles.

The theft took place at a local pet shop, where the suspect allegedly bypassed security protocols or broke into display enclosures to extract the snakes before fleeing.
