Transient Arrested After Being Found Asleep on Couch During Victorville House Burglary

VICTORVILLE, CA — Police have arrested a local transient on multiple charges after he was discovered inside a residential home in Victorville. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old David Williams, was found by authorities resting on a couch inside the residence.

According to the Victorville Police Department, officers responded to a call regarding a break-in at a local property. Upon entering the home, officers discovered Williams. A closer inspection of the premises revealed a broken window, which investigators believe was the suspect's point of entry. The damaged window led to an additional charge of vandalism alongside the primary charge of residential burglary.

Williams was arrested at the scene without further incident. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, where he faces formal charges of burglary and vandalism. Local authorities continue to urge residents to ensure all windows and entryways are securely locked and to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods immediately.
