Visalia Cleaning Contractors Arrested in Connection with Airbnb Burglary
VISALIA, California — What was supposed to be a standard turnover cleaning at a local short-term rental turned into a crime scene investigation after cleaning contractors were arrested for burglarizing a Visalia Airbnb.
The Visalia Police Department responded to reports of a residential burglary at an Airbnb property on March 5, 2026. According to police reports, the property owner noticed several valuable items missing from the residence following the scheduled departure of a cleaning crew. The missing items reportedly included electronic equipment, household valuables, and personal belongings left at the property.
An investigation quickly focused on the cleaning contractors hired to service the property. Officers were able to locate the suspects and recover some of the stolen property. Both contractors were subsequently arrested and charged with commercial or residential burglary and grand theft.
Short-term rental hosts in the Central Valley are being reminded to verify the credentials and backgrounds of independent contractors servicing their properties, as trust in the gig economy remains a vulnerability for property owners.
