Armed Burglars Stole French Bulldog Puppies at Gunpoint in Northeast Washington, D.C. Apartment Break-in
WASHINGTON, D.C. โ A terrifying New Year's Eve home invasion in Northeast Washington, D.C., has culminated in multiple arrests, though a stolen puppy remains missing, according to police reports and local news coverage.
The incident occurred on December 31, 2023, when armed suspects broke into an apartment in Northeast D.C. During the break-in, the perpetrators held the residents at gunpoint and stole French Bulldog puppies. The high-value breed has increasingly become a target for armed robberies and burglaries across the metropolitan area.
The Metropolitan Police Department launched a comprehensive investigation into the armed burglary. Over the subsequent months, law enforcement made significant progress. A man was initially arrested in connection with the theft of the dogs, and eventually, a total of five suspects were arrested for their roles in the burglary. Despite the arrests, police are still searching for one of the stolen puppies that remains missing and are asking for the public's assistance to locate the animal and return it to its owners.
