Over $90,000 in Inventory Stolen in Northeast D.C. T-Mobile Store Burglary
WASHINGTON, D.C. โ A major investigation is underway in Northeast Washington, D.C., after thieves targeted a T-Mobile retail location, stealing more than $90,000 worth of electronic devices and store inventory.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the commercial burglary took place at the retail outlet under the cover of night. The suspects breached the store's entry points and targeted high-value merchandise, including late-model smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other mobile accessories. The speed and scale of the theft suggest a coordinated effort by the perpetrators, who managed to clear out a significant portion of the store's secure inventory room.
Loss prevention teams and MPD detectives are working together to trace the serial numbers of the stolen mobile devices, which are being flagged on national databases to prevent them from be activated or resold on secondary markets. Local businesses in the surrounding commercial strip have been advised to review their security setups and ensure surveillance systems are fully operational.
Police are reviewing security camera footage from both inside the T-Mobile store and adjacent properties to identify the vehicles and individuals involved.
