Duo Arrested in $24,000 Luxury Sunglasses Smash-and-Grab Heist

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Two suspects have been apprehended following a high-value smash-and-grab robbery at a luxury retailer in West Palm Beach. The incident resulted in the theft of designer sunglasses valued at approximately $24,000. Quick action by local police led to the identification and arrest of the suspects shortly after the crime occurred.

According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, the suspects entered the commercial establishment, shattered glass display cases, and quickly swept dozens of pairs of luxury sunglasses into bags. The heist took less than two minutes, after which the suspects fled the store into a waiting getaway vehicle. Store employees immediately called 911, providing police with a detailed description of the suspects and their escape vehicle.

Swift Response Leads to Arrest

Using real-time crime center cameras and license plate readers, officers located the suspect vehicle traveling near a major highway. Patrol units conducted a coordinated traffic stop and took both individuals into custody without further incident. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered the entirety of the stolen luxury merchandise, still containing store security tags.

The duo faces multiple felony charges, including grand theft, retail theft, and criminal mischief. Both suspects are currently being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
