Attempted Carjacking and Burglary in West Palm Beach Ends in Arrest

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A fast-moving series of criminal events in West Palm Beach ended with a suspect behind bars after an attempted carjacking and a residential burglary. The West Palm Beach Police Department responded to the scene and apprehended the suspect following a brief foot pursuit.

According to police reports, the incident began when the suspect approached a driver and attempted to forcibly take control of their vehicle. The driver managed to resist the carjacking and immediately fled the area to call for help. Undeterred, the suspect then broke into a nearby residence in an apparent attempt to hide or steal property, prompting a second emergency call from a terrified homeowner.

Police Units Subdue Suspect

Responding officers quickly saturated the perimeter, spotting the suspect as he exited the burglarized home. When commanded to halt, the suspect fled on foot through residential yards. K-9 units and patrol officers successfully cornered the suspect a few blocks away, placing him under arrest without further escalation.

The suspect faces charges of attempted carjacking, burglary of an occupied dwelling, and resisting arrest without violence. He was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he is being held pending his initial court appearance.
