South Wichita Auto Parts Store Targeted in Afternoon Robbery

WICHITA, Kansas — Law enforcement officers were dispatched to south Wichita on Saturday afternoon following reports of a robbery at an auto parts store. The suspect reportedly entered the establishment, threatened staff, and fled the scene with cash from the register.

The incident took place at approximately 3:00 PM on April 11, 2026. According to the Wichita Police Department, a male suspect walked into the business and confronted the cashier. While no injuries were reported, the suspect made demands that led employees to hand over an undisclosed sum of money from the cash drawer. The suspect then exited the store and was last seen heading on foot in a southerly direction.

Police Seek Public Assistance

Officers arrived quickly and searched the immediate area, but no suspects were immediately detained. Investigators are reviewing security footage from the store's interior cameras to construct a detailed description of the suspect. The store remained closed for a portion of Saturday evening to allow forensic teams to process the scene for evidence.
