Suspect Flees on Foot After Armed Robbery of Winston-Salem Family Dollar Store

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Authorities are searching for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at a local Family Dollar store in Winston-Salem before fleeing the scene on foot late Sunday night.

The incident occurred at the retail store located on a major thoroughfare in Winston-Salem. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, a man entered the Family Dollar store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the store employees. The cashier complied with the suspect's demands, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Immediately after obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the store on foot. Responding officers established a perimeter and utilized police dogs to trace the suspect's path, but the individual managed to evade capture. No injuries were reported among the store employees or customers during the robbery.
