Police Search for Suspect in Attempted Bank Robbery in Aberdeen

Authorities in Aberdeen are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted bank robbery that took place on Monday afternoon.

The Incident

According to police reports, a male suspect entered the local bank branch during regular business hours. The suspect, who was wearing a distinctive hat and a face mask to conceal his identity, approached one of the bank tellers and demanded cash. However, the attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the scene on foot before obtaining any money.

Suspect Description

Law enforcement officials have released details regarding the suspect's appearance in hopes that someone from the community might recognize him. The individual is described as follows:

• Attire: Wearing a prominent hat and a dark face mask covering his mouth and nose.
• Build: Average height and medium build.
• Demeanor: Described as agitated during the brief encounter.

Investigation Ongoing

Aberdeen police officers responded swiftly to the alarm, securing the scene and interviewing staff and witnesses who were present inside the bank at the time. Forensic teams have also processed the area for physical and digital evidence, including CCTV footage from the bank and neighboring businesses.

Detective Inspector Thompson, leading the inquiry, stated: "We are taking this attempted robbery extremely seriously. While no one was physically injured, this was a highly distressing event for the bank staff.
