Three individuals have been arrested and charged following a commercial break-in and high-value theft at a prominent retail store located on Union Street, Aberdeenโ€™s main shopping thoroughfare.

The Break-In at 'The Attic'

The incident, which occurred during the early hours of Monday morning, targeted a popular local business known as 'The Attic'. Perpetrators forced entry through the shopfront in a smash-and-grab style burglary, causing significant structural damage to the store's windows and entrance. A substantial quantity of high-value stock was reported stolen from the premises.

Police Action and Court Appearance

Following a rapid response and investigative work by local police, three suspects were apprehended in connection with the crime. Subsequently, a man and a woman appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to face charges related to the break-in, theft, and destruction of property.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland commented on the arrests: "Business break-ins have a devastating impact on our local retailers, particularly in high-profile areas like Union Street. Thanks to the quick response of our officers and assistance from the public, we were able to quickly identify and arrest three individuals in relation to this incident."

Impact on the Union Street Community

The incident has renewed discussions among local merchants regarding city center security.
