Two Men Charged Over Armed Robberies at Convenience Stores in Preston and Chorley
Lancashire Police have charged two men following a series of armed robberies targeting local convenience stores in Preston and Chorley. The charges follow investigations into incidents where shop staff were threatened with knives before cash and stock were stolen.
The robberies, which took place at retail premises in both communes, prompted a swift and coordinated response from local police forces. Thanks to CCTV footage and witness descriptions, officers were able to locate and arrest the suspects within days of the offenses.
Both men face multiple charges, including robbery and possession of a bladed article. Authorities confirmed they have been remanded in custody to appear before magistrates. Retailers in the area have been advised to maintain high vigilance and review their security protocols.
"We take retail crime and the safety of workers extremely seriously," said a Lancashire Police representative. "Knife crime of any kind will be met with a robust response, and we are committed to ensuring our local business communities remain safe environments to work in."
