Hull Riots: Looters of Lush, O2 and Shoezone Convicted in Court

A series of court hearings have concluded for multiple individuals charged with looting prominent retail stores—including Lush, O2, Greggs, and Shoezone—during the widespread riots in Hull on 3 August 2024. The judicial outcomes reflect the varied ages and backgrounds of the offenders involved in the civil unrest.

Among those sentenced is a 64-year-old serial offender with a lengthy criminal record who was jailed after pleading guilty to stealing cosmetics from Lush and mobile products from the O2 store. Conversely, a 15-year-old boy was spared a custodial sentence and instead given a referral order after admitting to looting Greggs and Lush during the disorder. In another high-profile case, a man who was captured on video looting Lush, O2, and Shoezone while wearing an England football shirt pleaded guilty to commercial burglary and violent disorder.
