CCTV Released After Blakelaw Burglary Involving Vehicle and Bank Card Theft

NEWCASTLE — Detectives from Northumbria Police's High Impact Team are appealing for public assistance following a residential burglary in the Blakelaw area of Newcastle, which resulted in the theft of personal property and a motor vehicle.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 3:00 AM. According to police reports, offenders managed to gain entry to a home located on Druridge Drive. Once inside the property, the intruders conducted a search, stealing a sum of cash and several bank cards. They then located the keys to the homeowner's vehicle and fled the scene in the stolen car.

Following the break-in, the stolen bank cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at retail premises in the nearby Denton area. In an effort to identify those responsible, investigators released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak with in connection with the crime. Northumbria Police later confirmed on June 22, 2026, that the individual shown in the image had been successfully identified and located.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with further information regarding the incident, the movements of the stolen vehicle, or suspicious activity on Druridge Drive around the time of the break-in to contact Northumbria Police to assist with their ongoing inquiries.
