Gang of Thieves Systematically Plunders Newcastle Factory Site Over Three Days

An investigation is underway in Newcastle upon Tyne after a gang of thieves occupied and plundered a historic local factory site. The suspects reportedly spent three full days inside the facility, undetected, systematically dismantling and removing high-value components, machinery, and raw metals.

A Three-Day Plunder

The scale of the burglary suggests a high level of planning and execution. Over the course of 72 hours, the gang targeted the factory's infrastructure, stripping out valuable wiring, copper piping, and specialized manufacturing equipment. The loss is estimated to run into tens of thousands of pounds, in addition to the structural damage caused to the historic facility.

Police Launch Investigation

Police were called to the scene on February 23, 2026, after staff members noticed the extensive damage and missing assets. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses and roads to track the vehicles used by the thieves to transport the heavy goods. The incident has raised questions about security monitoring at dormant or semi-active industrial landmarks across Newcastle.
