Roof-Infiltration Burglars Target One Stop Store in Nuneaton
A convenience store in Nuneaton was targeted by burglars who employed an unusual and destructive method of entry, accessing the building through the roof. The incident, which targeted the local One Stop shop, has prompted a full investigation by Warwickshire Police.
The Roof Break-In
The offenders bypassed standard ground-level security measures, such as locked doors and window shutters, by climbing onto the roof of the One Stop building. They managed to cut or force open a section of the roof structure to drop down into the store. Once inside, they targeted tobacco, alcohol, and cash registers before escaping back through the roof or an emergency exit.
The break-in caused substantial structural damage to the store's roof, requiring immediate repairs and forcing a temporary closure of the business. Staff arriving for their morning shift discovered the damage and the missing inventory, alerting authorities immediately.
Investigating the Incident
Forensic teams have searched the premises for DNA and fingerprint evidence left by the burglars. Officers are also reviewing local CCTV and asking anyone with dashcam footage from the surrounding streets to come forward. Police suspect that the burglars may have surveyed the building beforehand and had knowledge of the roof layout, urging neighboring businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity on or around their properties.
