Attackers Rob Man of Necklace Outside South Shields Chip Shop

Detectives in South Shields are appealing for information following a violent robbery outside a local chip shop that left a man shaken and without a personal item of high sentimental value.

The incident occurred in the evening when the victim, a local resident in his 30s, was approached by a group of individuals near a popular take-away establishment. Following a brief verbal exchange, the confrontation escalated. The suspects assaulted the man before forcibly pulling a necklace from his neck and fleeing the scene on foot.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Northumbria Police officers arrived shortly after the incident was reported and conducted an initial search of the surrounding area. An investigation is now underway, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses.
