Teen Robbed at Gunpoint During Online Marketplace Transaction in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas — Local law enforcement is urging residents to use designated safety zones for online transactions following an armed robbery targeting an Abilene teenager. The victim had arranged a meeting to sell an item to buyers she had connected with online, but the interaction quickly turned violent.

According to the Abilene Police Department, the suspect met with the teen at the agreed-upon location, where they pulled out a handgun, threatened the victim, and fled with the item without paying. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported, though the victim was understandably shaken by the ordeal.
