Augusta Aggravated Assault Suspect Arrested During Active Burglary

AUGUSTA, GA โ€” An ongoing search for a wanted suspect came to a dramatic end on January 6, 2025, when Augusta police officers caught the individual in the middle of a burglary. The arrest successfully removed a suspect accused of violent offences from the local streets.

The suspect had been actively sought by law enforcement for his involvement in a prior aggravated assault case. On the afternoon of January 6, officers responded to a residential alarm indicating an active burglary. Upon arriving at the property, police discovered signs of forced entry and entered the premises to secure the area.

Inside, officers located and detained a male suspect who was caught attempting to steal property. When processing the suspect's identity at the scene, officers discovered he was the same individual wanted on the outstanding warrants for aggravated assault. The suspect was arrested on the spot and transported to the local detention center, where he now faces new charges of burglary in addition to the prior assault allegations.
