Teen Arrested for Express Mart Armed Robbery in Beaumont; Four Others Detained on Federal Warrants
BEAUMONT, Texas — A 19-year-old suspect is in custody and four other individuals have been arrested on outstanding federal warrants following a swift investigation into an armed robbery at a Beaumont convenience store in October 2025.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 1, 2025, at the Express Mart located at 1755 East Cardinal Drive. Police reports indicate that two armed individuals entered the store, threatened employees, and fled with approximately $200 in cash along with various tobacco products. Although the suspects had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, investigators successfully utilized store surveillance footage to identify a suspect vehicle linked to the crime.
Detectives tracked the suspect vehicle to a residence in the 3100 block of Grand Street. During a search of the property, police discovered evidence directly linking 19-year-old Marvin Lee Watts to the Express Mart robbery. Watts was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and was subsequently indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury in December 2025.
While executing the arrest at the Grand Street residence, officers encountered four other men present on the property: Trailene Jones, Ronald Broussard, Qwynton Daniels, and David Greer Jr. A routine check revealed that these individuals were wanted on active federal firearms warrants. All four were taken into custody on unrelated weapons charges alongside Watts, highlighting a significant joint effort between local police and federal law enforcement to remove illegal firearms from the streets of Beaumont.
