BRADENTON, FL — A multi-agency investigation is underway after St. Petersburg and Manatee County detectives linked a fatal drive-by shooting in St. Petersburg directly to a previous armed home invasion that occurred in Bradenton.

According to police reports, the conflict began when a residence in Bradenton was targeted in a violent home invasion. Shortly after the initial break-in, individuals associated with the victims of the Bradenton incident reportedly sought retaliation. This dispute culminated in a drive-by shooting in St. Petersburg, which left one person dead.

Law enforcement authorities have emphasized the dangers of vigilante justice and retaliatory street violence.
