Shotgun-Wielding Suspect Arrested After Damaging Charleston Businesses and Robbing Convenience Store

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Local law enforcement responded rapidly to apprehend a suspect who went on a destructive rampage through Charleston, damaging multiple businesses with a shotgun and committing an armed robbery at a convenience store.

According to police reports, the suspect walked through a commercial area carrying a shotgun, which he used to shatter windows and damage the storefronts of several businesses, causing panic and significant property damage. Following the vandalism, the gunman entered a nearby convenience store, where he threatened the cashier and demanded money and merchandise before fleeing on foot.

Responding officers established a perimeter and quickly located the suspect based on descriptions provided by eyewitnesses and surveillance feeds.
