The incident occurred on November 10, 2025, when the off-duty officer was confronted by armed individuals who successfully stripped him of his personal firearm. The robbery prompted a swift and intensive response from the Cleveland Division of Police and local investigators.

Following a rapid investigation, authorities arrested a teenage suspect who was subsequently hit with additional charges of attempted murder in connection with the crime.
