Teenager Charged After Disarming Victim in Cleveland Gas Station Robbery
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A teenager has been formally charged following a robbery at a local gas station where a victim was disarmed of their personal firearm, Cuyahoga County prosecutors announced on Tuesday.
The incident took place on November 11, 2025, at a gas station located in the city of Cleveland. According to the criminal complaint, the suspect, a male juvenile, approached the victim near the pumps. A verbal confrontation escalated when the teen drew a handgun, demanding the victim hand over a weapon they were legally carrying.
Disarmed at the Pumps
The victim, fearing for their life, complied and relinquished their firearm. The teen then fled the scene on foot. Police officers patrolling the area spotted a suspect matching the description shortly after the incident and apprehended him after a brief foot chase.
Upon arrest, officers recovered the victim's stolen firearm, along with a secondary illegal handgun in the teen's possession. The juvenile has been charged with aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and receiving stolen property.
Prosecution and Detention
Due to the severe nature of the offense and the involvement of firearms, prosecutors are considering whether to petition the court to transfer the case to adult court. The suspect remains detained at the juvenile detention center pending further proceedings.
