Fatal Shooting: Armed Robber Killed by Liquor Store Employee in Concord

CONCORD, California — A violent armed robbery attempt at a local business ended in gunfire, leaving one suspect dead after a store employee opened fire in self-defense.

According to the Concord Police Department, the incident occurred at a liquor store situated along the busy Willow Pass Road corridor. An armed individual entered the store and brandished a weapon, demanding cash and threatening employees.

Fearing for their safety, a store employee retrieved a firearm and shot the suspect. Officers dispatched to the scene arrived to find the suspect suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services attempted life-saving measures, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have cordoned off the area to conduct a forensic investigation and interview witnesses. At this stage, police indicated that the employee is cooperating fully with the investigation, and no charges have been filed. The identity of the deceased suspect is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
