Fresno: Burglars Use GMC Denali to Smash Into Liquor Store

Authorities in Fresno are searching for two suspects involved in a destructive smash-and-grab burglary that occurred early Wednesday morning. The incident took place at approximately 4:20 a.m. at J-K Liquor, located near the intersection of Nees and Willow Avenues.

A Destructive Entry

According to the store manager and surveillance footage, the suspects arrived at the business in a GMC Denali SUV. Initially, the pair attempted a more subtle approach, using a crowbar to try and pry the front door open. When their efforts to force the door proved unsuccessful, they resorted to drastic measures.

The burglars used the large GMC Denali as a battering ram, reversing the heavy vehicle directly into the storefront to smash their way inside.

Extensive Damages Left Behind

The forceful entry left a path of destruction in its wake. The store manager reported significant damage to the property, including the total destruction of the front door. Once inside, the vehicle and the burglars caused further damage to the store's counter, coolers, display cases, and the cash register.

Police are continuing their investigation into the burglary and are seeking any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects responsible for the costly break-in.
