Late-Night Cooking Session: Intruder Breaks Into Greensboro Popeyes to Fry Shrimp and Biscuits
A bizarre break-in has left Greensboro police searching for an unusual culinary culprit who targeted a local Popeyes restaurant in North Carolina. According to the Greensboro Police Department, an unidentified individual breached the security of the fast-food establishment in the early morning hours of late May. Rather than focusing immediately on stealing cash from the registers or searching for high-value safes, the suspect took an unexpected detour straight to the kitchen's commercial cooking area.
Once inside the kitchen, the intruder displayed a surprising familiarity with the restaurant's operations, turning on the commercial fryers and ovens to prepare a customized meal. Police report that the suspect successfully cooked a batch of shrimp, french fries, and Popeyes' signature warm biscuits. The intruder apparently took the time to enjoy the freshly prepared meal on-site or packaged it up before finalizing the burglary. Before making a clean getaway, the suspect also stole several unspecified store items and equipment from the premises.
Detectives are currently reviewing high-resolution surveillance footage captured by the store's security cameras in hopes of identifying the hungry intruder. The Greensboro Police Department has requested that anyone with information regarding the break-in or the suspect's identity contact local authorities immediately or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. The unusual nature of the crime has sparked significant conversation among local residents and on social media platforms, with many expressing surprise at the intruder's bold kitchen antics and culinary skills during a criminal act.
