Southwest Houston Homeowner Shoots 'Bloodied' Intruder Who Forced Entry

HOUSTON, Texas — A quiet neighborhood in Southwest Houston became the scene of a violent confrontation when a homeowner shot a bloodied intruder who kicked down his door and forced entry into his home.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred in the afternoon. Investigators report that a man, who was already covered in blood from an unknown prior incident, approached the home, kicked down the front door, and forced his way inside the residence.

Fearing for his safety, the homeowner confronted the intruder and discharged a firearm, striking him. HPD officers arrived shortly after receiving emergency calls reporting a break-in and shooting. Paramedics transported the injured suspect to a local hospital for treatment.

His current condition and the circumstances leading to his initial injuries remain under investigation. The homeowner is cooperating fully with law enforcement, and no charges have been filed at this time.
