Two Arrested Following Edwards Grocery Burglary and High-Speed Chase in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Alabama — Police have apprehended two individuals suspected of breaking into Edwards Grocery, a local business in Jacksonville, Alabama, following an investigation that involved a high-speed vehicle pursuit.

The incident began on April 21, 2026, when officers responded to reports of a burglary in progress at the grocery store. Upon arrival, officers encountered suspects fleeing the scene. One suspect, a resident of Bessemer, led police on a dangerous high-speed chase before being taken into custody.

As the investigation progressed, Jacksonville Police identified a second individual suspected of involvement in the burglary. In mid-June, authorities announced the arrest of the second suspect. Both individuals now face charges of burglary and fleeing law enforcement, among other related offenses.
