Burglars Hit Three Downtown Jacksonville Businesses in Overnight Spree

JACKSONVILLE, IL โ€” Police are investigating a series of commercial break-ins that targeted three downtown businesses overnight, causing property damage and leaving local business owners on high alert.

According to authorities, the burglaries occurred during the early hours of Wednesday. The suspect or suspects managed to gain entry to the establishments by forcing open doors or shattering windows. An undisclosed amount of cash, merchandise, and equipment was reported stolen from the properties.

The Jacksonville Police Department is currently collecting surveillance footage from neighboring establishments and is urging anyone with information to come forward. "We are working diligently to identify the perpetrators and restore a sense of security to our downtown business community," a spokesperson for the department said.
