Two Jacksonville Men Arrested Following Break-in at Ameren Illinois Center

JACKSONVILLE, IL โ€” Two Jacksonville residents have been arrested and charged in connection with a break-in at the Ameren Illinois service center on Thursday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the facility after security alarms detected unauthorized entry. Upon arrival, police established a perimeter and located two suspects inside the premises attempting to steal copper wiring and specialized tools.

The suspects, identified as local residents, were taken into custody without further incident. They have been charged with commercial burglary, possession of burglary tools, and criminal damage to property. Both individuals are being held at the Morgan County Detention Facility pending their initial court appearance.
