Joliet Funko Pop Heist: Reckless Homicide Convict and Woman Arrested

JOLIET, IL — A bizarre heist targeting highly sought-after Funko Pop collectibles has led to the arrest of two individuals in Joliet, including a man with a prior conviction for reckless homicide. The Joliet Police Department apprehended the suspects shortly after the theft occurred.

Authorities identified the male suspect as a convicted felon previously found guilty of reckless homicide. Alongside him, a woman was also taken into custody and charged with complicity and theft. The duo allegedly targeted a local retail location, stealing a substantial quantity of collectible Funko Pop figures, which can command high resale values on secondary markets.

Store employees noticed the missing inventory and alerted local law enforcement. Officers patrolling the area managed to locate the suspects' vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, during which the stolen items were recovered. The male suspect faces additional charges due to his criminal background, while his female counterpart has been booked on felony theft charges.

The swift action of the retail staff and responding officers prevented the stolen merchandise from being liquidated online or through local pawn shops. Both suspects are currently awaiting their bond hearings in Will County.
