18-Year-Old Turns Himself In to Police After Robbing Teen in Kennewick Grocery Store Restroom

KENNEWICK, WA — An 18-year-old suspect has surrendered to authorities after allegedly robbing a teenager inside the restroom of a Yoke's Fresh Market in Kennewick. The suspect turned himself in to the Kennewick Police Department on January 1, 2026, following a public investigation into the New Year's Eve incident.

The robbery took place inside the public restroom of the grocery store, where the suspect cornered a teenage victim and demanded personal property under the threat of force. Following the incident, Kennewick police gathered descriptions and security footage, releasing information to locate the suspect. Recognizing that law enforcement was actively searching for him, the 18-year-old opted to turn himself in.

The suspect has been charged with second-degree robbery and is currently being held as the legal process moves forward. Police department representatives commended the swift resolution of the case, highlighting how community pressure and active police tracking often lead suspects to surrender rather than evade arrest.
