Pizza Delivery Driver Arrested After Kissimmee Home Invasion and Stabbing of Pregnant Mother
KISSIMMEE, Fla. โ A dispute over a minor tip took a horrific and violent turn in Kissimmee, leading to the arrest of a pizza delivery driver. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office arrested 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo in connection with a brutal home invasion and the stabbing of a pregnant mother at the Riviera Motel along Highway 192.
An Alleged Dispute Over a $2 Tip
According to investigators, the conflict began on the night of December 22, 2024, when Alvelo delivered a pizza to a room at the Riviera Motel. The customer left a $2 tip, which reportedly enraged Alvelo. Deputies state that Alvelo made her displeasure known before leaving the premises.
The Armed Intrusion and Stabbing
Later that same night, Alvelo returned to the motel room, accompanied by an unidentified male suspect. Both intruders wore face masks to conceal their identities. The duo forced their way into the room, where Melinda Irizarry, who was one month pregnant, was staying with her family.
In a desperate bid to protect her five-year-old daughter, Irizarry shielded the child as the intruders attacked. Irizarry was stabbed 14 times across her chest, abdomen, arms, and legs. Despite the severity of the attack, the young child was not harmed.
Medical Emergency and Arrest
Irizarry was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, where she underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured lung and other stab wounds. Both she and her unborn child survived the ordeal and were listed in stable condition.
Following a rapid investigation, Osceola County deputies located and arrested Brianna Alvelo on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was booked into the Osceola County Jail and faces severe charges, including:
- Home invasion robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon
- Attempted felony murder
- Kidnapping
- Aggravated assault
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking information regarding the male accomplice, who fled the scene and remains at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities or Crimeline.
