Marion County Duo Arrested After Targeted Heist at Lakeland Tractor Supply Co.

LAKELAND, FL — Two Marion County residents are facing multiple felony charges after their attempt to burglarize a local Tractor Supply Co. store using a rented U-Haul truck was thwarted by law enforcement officers in Lakeland.

According to police reports, the suspect pair arrived at the Tractor Supply store on the outskirts of Lakeland with the intent of loading high-value merchandise, including outdoor equipment and tools, into a rented U-Haul cargo van. Store employees noticed the suspicious behavior and contacted the Lakeland Police Department and local deputies.

Responding units intercepted the vehicle and suspects before they could exit the premises. A search of the vehicle revealed stolen store merchandise worth thousands of dollars. The two individuals were arrested on the spot and transported to the local detention facility, facing charges of grand theft and commercial burglary.
