Distinctive Shoes Lead to Arrest in Lexington Restaurant Safe Theft

LEXINGTON, KY — Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a safe from a local Lexington restaurant, thanks in large part to a critical clue left behind on surveillance footage: his distinctive shoes.

According to the Lexington Police Department, the burglary occurred at a local dining establishment where a suspect managed to break in and remove a safe containing cash and valuable business documents. During the investigation, detectives reviewed security camera footage from the scene. While the suspect attempted to conceal his identity, the surveillance video captured clear images of his highly recognizable footwear.

Using the details of the shoes, along with other investigative leads, officers were able to match the footwear to the suspect. The man was subsequently located, identified, and taken into custody. He faces charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
