Two Arrested Following Theft Of A Firearm From Gun Store In Lexington Park

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Two suspects are in custody following the theft of a firearm from a gun store in Lexington Park on July 19, 2024. The incident prompted a rapid response from local law enforcement due to the nature of the stolen property.

According to investigators, the suspects entered the commercial establishment and managed to bypass security measures to steal a firearm before fleeing the premises. Store staff immediately notified authorities, providing descriptions of the individuals and their direction of travel.

Deputies saturated the area and successfully located both suspects a short distance away. During the apprehension, the stolen firearm was successfully recovered by deputies, preventing it from entering the illegal market.

Both individuals have been charged with theft of a firearm, conspiracy to commit theft, and related charges. They are currently being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.
