62-Year-Old Man Arrested Following Break-In at A+ Attire in Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, VA โ A late-night commercial burglary at A+ Attire was thwarted by alert citizens and a swift police response, resulting in the arrest of a 62-year-old local resident. Daniel Saunders was taken into custody inside the business on February 28, 2024, and faces numerous felony charges.
Witness Alerted Police to Window Break-In
The incident began when an observant witness contacted the emergency dispatch center after spotting a man breaking into the clothing store through a window. Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department immediately dispatched to the scene, arriving while the crime was still in progress.
Upon entering the establishment, officers located Saunders. He was found in possession of a large volume of stolen merchandise that he had gathered from the store shelves. Saunders was arrested without further incident.
Charges and Jail Status
Daniel Saunders faces a list of charges related to the break-in, including burglary with intent to commit larceny, grand larceny, property damage, and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance. Following his arrest, Saunders was booked into the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
