FedEx Employee Accused of Stealing $12K Diamond Pendant, Selling It to Memphis Jeweler
MEMPHIS, Tennessee โ A shipping company employee has been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing a package containing a $12,000 diamond pendant and selling the stolen item to a local Memphis jewelry store, according to police reports.
The Memphis Police Department launched an investigation after a customer reported a missing high-value shipment that had been processed through a local logistics facility. Investigators traced the tracking logs and identified a FedEx worker who had access to the package. According to police affidavits, the suspect took the diamond pendant from the shipping line, bypassing facility security controls, and then brought it to a jewelry shop in Memphis, where they sold it for cash.
The jewelry store owners, who were cooperative with the investigation, helped police recover the stolen pendant after cross-checking transaction records and identification provided during the sale. The FedEx employee is now facing charges of grand larceny and theft of property. Representatives from FedEx stated that the company is cooperating fully with law enforcement and has zero tolerance for theft within their shipping network.
