Police Pursuit of Burglary Suspect Ends in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Northwest Miami-Dade

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FL — A police pursuit of an active burglary suspect came to a dramatic end in Northwest Miami-Dade on Thursday when the suspect vehicle collided with multiple civilian cars, causing significant traffic delays and injuring several people.

According to police reports, officers responded to a residential burglary call in the northwest district. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect fleeing the scene in a sedan. When patrol cars attempted to block the suspect's escape, the individual rammed a cruiser and sped away, prompting police to initiate a pursuit due to the violent nature of the getaway.

The chase ended at a busy intersection when the suspect ran a red light, colliding with three other vehicles. The impact was severe enough to flip one car onto its side.
