Police Charge Local Man in Connection with $100K Pokémon Card Heist

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Investigators have made a major breakthrough in the high-profile Pokémon card heist, arresting and charging a New Bedford man in connection with the theft of over $100,000 worth of rare cards.

The arrest comes nearly two weeks after the collectibles store was broken into. Following an intensive investigation that involved analyzing surveillance footage, tracing online sales attempts, and receiving tips from the local gaming community, detectives executed a search warrant that led to the suspect's apprehension.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, larceny over $1,200, and malicious destruction of property. Police are working to recover the stolen cards and return them to the shop owners. Legal proceedings are scheduled to begin shortly at New Bedford District Court.
