Over $100K in Rare Pokémon Cards Stolen in New Bedford Collectibles Store Break-In

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — Thieves made off with a massive haul of rare and highly valuable Pokémon cards valued at over $100,000 during an overnight break-in at a New Bedford collectibles store.

The incident, which occurred in July 2025, left the store owners devastated. According to police reports, the perpetrators forced entry into the establishment during the night, bypassing security measures to target specific display cases containing high-value, graded, and vintage Pokémon cards. The targeted nature of the theft has led investigators to believe that the suspect or suspects had prior knowledge of the store's inventory and layout.

Local card collectors and store owners in the region have been warned to look out for suspicious listings on online marketplaces or attempts to sell large quantities of rare cards to local hobby shops. New Bedford detectives are actively reviewing security footage from surrounding businesses to identify the culprits.
