Police Search for Suspects in Elmwood Avenue Grocery Store Burglary

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to identify and locate a group of suspects wanted in connection with a commercial burglary in the Southwest section of the city.

According to detectives, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of February 23, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m. The target was Mi Tienda Hispana, a local convenience and grocery store located at 7012 Elmwood Avenue. Investigators report that the suspects gained access to the commercial property by breaking through the rear entrance of the building.

Once inside, the perpetrators ransacked the premises, locating and stealing a store laptop, a cellular phone, and several thousand dollars in cash from the register and safe. After completing the heist, the group fled the scene on foot, heading westbound along Elmwood Avenue.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects during the break-in. The Southwest Detective Division has released this footage to the public in hopes that someone can identify the individuals involved. Authorities describe the suspects as several males who were wearing dark clothing and masks at the time of the crime.
