Police Seek Assistance Identifying Portsmouth Armed Robbery Suspect

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Authorities in Portsmouth are calling on the public to help identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place early Friday morning.

Portsmouth Police Department officials reported that the incident occurred around 5:45 AM on February 27, 2026. The suspect entered the commercial premises, produced a weapon, and threatened employees before demanding cash from the register. After obtaining money, the individual fled the location in an unknown direction.

Responding officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the suspect. Crime scene technicians and detectives gathered evidence at the scene, including security camera feeds. The suspect's description is being circulated to local patrol officers and neighborhood watch groups.
